The long wait was finally over! Auntie Jen and Uncle Edy were coming to the United States to begin their life together. You and Daddy stayed home while I went with Nana and Grandpa to pick them up. It was great to finally have them home! The next day was Thanksgiving, and we were all so thankful that we could be together again.

The entire Des Moines family came up to see Auntie Jen and meet Uncle Edy for the first time! When you grow up you will understand that meeting Uncle Steve for the first time, if you aren’t already in the family, can be a bit intimidating! Edy did great and we had everyone over to our house so Uncle Edy could teach us how to make Gnocchi. Delicious!

It is so nice to have everyone back together again!

Everyday it seems like you are doing something new! Today was a special day because for the first time you took a step! Some babies start walking before they are 1 and some babies wait until they are ready and comfortable. You decided that today was the day you were going to try… We were in the laundry room folding clothes and you decided that you were just going to let go of the cupboard and take that step. I was shocked and tried to keep my excitement quiet… I knew if I made a big deal about it you would get a little nervous. Mommy could tell you were proud of yourself but also a little confused about what you did.

Later that afternoon while taking a drink of milk you decided to use those legs to take 5 steps. Whoa! My baby will be walking in no time…
