We were back in Madison and we needed to reintroduce the crib since you had been sleeping in the same room with Mommy and Daddy while in Minnesota. It only took one night and you were back in your room.
We were getting ready for your big weekend ahead. First, your Nana and Auntie Chrissy, and the kids were coming out for our traditional MEA weekend. Every year in October we have a long weekend together and we enjoy going to a pumpkin patch and picking out the best pumpkin and taking a hayride. We had to plan the meal that we were going to have for your upcoming Baptism. We decided to go with the famous Foggia italian pasta and Nana prepared the sauce two days in advance. Nana will teach you her secrets someday because she truly knows the way to make it PERFECT. You enjoyed playing with your cousins and most of all Henry loved holding and kissing you. His favorite name for you was Georgie Porgie.
On Friday the entire family, including the Wiebold’s, the Adam’s, and the Des Moines families arrived in Madison. We were expecting 30 people here to celebrate you on your Baptism. Since our apartment wouldn’t seat everyone, we rented a space in the club house. We served pasta, salad, and delicious desserts. Auntie Chrissy, your Godmother, came to the apartment before mass to get you dressed in your Baptismal suit. You looked so handsome and grown up in it. Chrissy attached your St. Christopher pin to your undershirt and also put it with a ribbon of Great Nana’s.
We all went to mass together and after the service you were baptized. You were so good the entire time, even through the million pictures that we took. Mommy and Daddy were proud of you and watching you get baptized was really incredible. Shortly after the baptism we all went back to celebrate with our friends and families. Grandma Janet led us in prayer and immediately afterwards we all dug into the feast. You had a full evening with everyone holding and kissing you. I think you loved the attention as you did such a great job. The party lasted until after 10pm and it was way past all of our bedtimes. It was such a blessed evening. On Sunday morning we went to say goodbye to everyone at the hotel. It was so neat to have all sides of the families together to enjoy breakfast before everyone went home.
We really missed Aunt Jen and Uncle Edy, but they were celebrating your baptism in Italy…
