Jen and Edy’s Wedding Day

Today was Auntie Jen’s big day. She was still living in Italy where she met her soon to be husband Edy. You have gotten to know Auntie Jen and Uncle Edy over Skype. Everytime you hear that ring over the computer your little face lights up. Because of the time difference in Italy, we had to get up a 3AM. Needless to say Mommy let you stay sleeping while Nana, Grandpa Dave, Auntie Chrissy and I watched over Skype.

Auntie Jen looked beautiful and most of all she looked so happy. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding with all of Jen and Edy’s closest friends. We were all a little sad that we weren’t there to witness it… We have started to count down the days until they move home!

Daddy’s 1st Day

We made your Daddy a nice breakfast for his first day of school. We were both so proud of him but had gotten used to him being home. We took a picture of him before he left, a tradition on any first day of something new. We were proud of him but could not wait for him to come back home.

Daddy’s day was a huge success and he got the feeling that he was really going to enjoy his new professor job at Carleton.

Mommy’s Night Away

Mommy was looking forward to a night away with her girlfriends. It was not easy to leave you, but Mommy knew you were in good hands with Daddy… Mommy was going to the cities with two of her best friends, Katie and Hilary. We talked about our babies the whole time! We all tried to stay up late but around midnight we were too tired to keep our eyes opened. It was great to have the night away! I could not wait to get home to you and Daddy…

Mommy and Grandma Linda worked very hard to get everything ready for your 2nd celebration. We were having about 50 of our closest friends and family over for an afternoon of fun. The weather was perfect and you were so excited to see everyone. We had tacos and cupcakes and tons of fruit and veggies. We had a blast entertaining in our new place since there was so much space. You were showered with gifts and love from everyone.

We were all looking forward to a little rest after your party. We had just had such a busy couple of weeks! We were ready for routine again…

P.S. It was your Daddy’s Birthday the day after your party! Nana and Mommy made Daddy a nice breakfast and we all sang Happy Birthday to him!

Hello Minnesota

It was move in day and we could not have had a better day than today. Mommy and Daddy drove down to the house with you and Finn before the rest of the moving crew came… We were finally home! Diane and Larry met us there and gave us the keys. When we went in to the house you were so excited to get down and crawl around. You went straight to your bedroom where you found the gifts that they left for you. A very cute little stuffed frog. Mommy and Daddy were surprised to find a bottle of champagne and a card from Diane and Larry. They were such great people.

We were able to get everything moved in, and began to get settled quickly. Getting settled was a priority because next weekend we were having all of your friends and family over to celebrate your birthday. Again!!!

Goodbye Madison

We are getting closer to leaving Madison for good! It was such a bitter sweet feeling… Madison has brought Mommy and Daddy a lot of joy, the most important part of Madison is you! Mommy and Daddy celebrated their 3 year wedding anniversary with you! We went out for burgers and fries and during dinner all we could talk about was you. Having you along for our anniversary dinner was perfect.

Grandpa and Grandma Wiebold were on their way out to Madison to help Mommy and Daddy get packed up to move. We would not have been able to do it without them. Grandma helped Mommy clean and get organized while Grandpa helped Daddy load the truck.

The last night in our apartment was a little sad for Mommy and Daddy. So much had happened in this little apartment. We were excited to embark on the next part of our journey. Look out MN, the Wiebolds are coming to town!

Happy Happy Birthday beautiful baby boy! As soon as we heard you talking Mommy and Daddy jumped out of bed and grabbed the camera. We wanted to capture every part of your special day! You gave us a great big smile and were ready to see what it was like to be 1… You were so excited to see your highchair and you immediately touched all of the balloons. You loved the sound they made when you would scratch and poke at them. We gave you your first gift. The theme of your day and gifts were all of your favorite things. First you opened your bubbles and your bucket full of shovels. You like to pretend to dig and pick up your toys with your shovel. We love bubbles ever since seeing them every week at the Little Gym. We sang Happy Birthday and could not wait for the rest of our day.

Next we took you to a picnic at EPIC, where Daddy was working. After an amazing lunch we went exploring. The first stop was the petting zoo… You were not afraid at all and you loved each and every animal. After spending quite some time at the zoo we wandered over to the giant Excavator… I think Daddy was more excited about it then you were. He took you inside the cab and you got to pretend that you were driving it. Daddy even put you in the bucket which was super cute. After wondering around a little more, our birthday boy was starting to look a little sleepy. We took you home and you took a great nap…

Presents, presents, presents… You opened your presents when you woke up! The first present was your very first doll, David. You loved him and gave him lots of hugs… You really were more interested in the boxes and wrapping paper. Mommy took note!

Our day continued with more of your favorite things, the park was next on our agenda. You loved to swing! We took some great photos of you and we captured how truly happy you are. We were excited to take you home and have your birthday cake. This would be your first time having sugar… We set the cake on your highchair and let you dig in. It took you a little while to figure out what you were suppose to do. As soon as you got a taste of the frosting you dug right in with your hands… Our day was winding down and Mommy and Daddy were reflecting on the year we have had. We were so lucky to be blessed with such a handsome and healthy little boy!

Time Flies…

Mommy and Daddy could not believe how fast this past year has gone. It feels like yesterday that we were gazing into each other eyes between long naps and cuddle time. We were so proud of you and all of the love that you filled our hearts with. We wanted to spend the day celebrating all of the things you loved to do… So Mommy and Daddy decided to keep you all to ourselves and celebrate with family and friends when we move to MN in August, only a few weeks away… On the night before your birthday, Mommy decorated your highchair with balloons and filled the house with decorations. We could not wait until you woke up to shower you with love and presents. Your 1st Birthday was already here!

Poolside

You and Mommy were heading to Des Moines to be with family and soak up some sun. Mommy did the sun bathing while you took some really great naps. Swimming took a lot out of you, but you were having so much fun. You and your cousins love playing together… You were being so brave and sticking your face in the water. Mommy was so proud of you! Spending time at the Lavias pool has been a tradition since Mommy was young. It is a tradition that we will keep doing as long as Steve-o fills the pool!

Goodbye Jack

We had grown very close to our neighbors across the hall and you were very fond of your buddy Jack who was only a couple months older. They had found a house to purchase and had recently moved out, so we decided to plan a play date for all of us. We went over to grill out and to celebrate the 4th of July. You two went swimming and Jack showed you all of his cool toys. You had a blast and by late afternoon you were both pretty sleepy. We knew it would be the last time we would see them for awhile. They were such great friends and had helped us out many times. The exciting part of moving to Faribault is that they have family there. We may get to see them again in the future…
